Lady: Hello, do you know how to use phone? I don’t speak English well.
Me: I haven’t used it but I can try to help you. Where are you from?
Lady: Macedonia. You girls?
Me: I’m from Albania.
Girl: Me too.
Lady: I travel to Albania. We need a car to take us to Macedonia.
Me: Do you speak another language other than Macedonian and English? Maybe it will be easier to communicate.
Lady: A little Spanish.
Me: I speak Spanish, too. Do you prefer to speak in Spanish?
Lady: That’s so lucky. Yes, please. I learned to speak Spanish where I work.
Girl: Doris, we have to help her make the call.
Me: Let’s go to a public phone. If you give me the number, I will try to call it.
(Calling the taxi driver)
Girl: She is calling him.
Me: The phone is ringing. Someone answered. Here you go.
Lady: Thank you very much.
(She talks on the phone and solves the problem.)
Lady: Thank you. My son can’t pick us up at the airport and we had to let the taxi driver know that the flight got delayed and we’ll be landing six hours later.
Me: I am happy that I was able to help you. Is there anything else I can do for you?
Lady: Yes,please. I don’t speak Italian, and I was told very late that the flight got delayed, so I wanted to ask them if they could give me a coupon that I could use to buy food.
Me: Sure. I speak Italian. Come with me to the information desk.
